9 Microsoft Word Keyboard Shortcuts to Start Using

Using keyboard shortcuts can improve your productivity and keep you focused. You may use the keyboard shortcuts "Ctrl + C" and "Ctrl + V" to copy and paste, but here are some additional keys that will improve editing efficiency in Microsoft Word.


1. Ctrl + Enter (enter the page break automatically)

Do yourself a favor and stop manual page interruptions (press enter multiple times to move to the next page in the section / row). Once you have inserted a line in the document, you will have to edit all other pages. Use page breaks and make editing easy.

2. F4 (Repeat last step)

This is probably the best label of all time. The F4 shortcut repeats almost every action you do on the file: Insert: Format and Delete. It will also allow you to repeat the action of adding or removing rows of tables, but this is generally not well implemented in the table. For example, changes to table properties cannot be repeated with this shortcut.

3. Shift + F5 (back to the last edit point)

This shortcut is very useful when you have to copy text from different parts of the file and want to get back to where you need to paste it.

4. Double-click and triple-click (choose words or paragraphs)

Double-click a word to select it, and triple-click the paragraph. Ctrl + Click to select a sentence.

If you have selected some text with the mouse and have missed many characters, this shortcut can save you time, you don't have to quit or obsolete.


5. Ctrl + Shift + C (copy selected text format)

This is very useful when you want to copy only the text format and not the text itself. Then use Ctrl + Shift + V in the selected text to apply the format you just copied. Yes, the format artists do too. But formatting contractors forget formatting as soon as you are ready. This shortcut remembers what you copied until you closed the word.

6. Ctrl + Shift + N (general style)

If you are working with documents that are covered in unfamiliar style and expertise (usually from other people), it is appropriate to turn them into plain text when traveling.

7.Ctrl + F (opens the Find tab)

Use this shortcut to open the Search tab when you want to find something in the file (or check for things that aren't). Use "Ctrl + H" if you want to find and replace.

8.  Multiple Shortcuts for Quick Text Formatting

Ctrl + B Bold Ctrl + I in italics or Ctrl + U for underlining. Use Ctrl + L to align the text to the left, Ctrl + E in the center, Ctrl + J to show the right, and Ctrl + R to the right.

9. Ctrl + Z (last action)

Ideally this can be repeated several times. And if you come back several times, you can do this again with Ctrl + I
